As the holiday season approaches, the historical Körner’s Folly in Kernersville, NC, is preparing to welcome guests for its annual Christmas by Candlelight event. This magical evening is a journey back to the Victorian era, where the 22-room house sparkles with incredible decorations and a festive atmosphere. Presented by McDaniel & Company and Piedmont Endodontics, the event is renowned for its unique blend of history, warmth, and holiday spirit. The Kernersville Little Theatre brings the era to life with costumed guides throughout the house, engaging guests with carol singing, Christmas readings, and the charming tradition of making Christmas wishes in the Reception Room.
Each room in Körner’s Folly is meticulously adorned with period-appropriate decorations, featuring twinkling lights, lush garlands, and handcrafted ornaments, creating a mesmerizing tapestry of holiday splendor. Visitors can explore the whimsical architecture of this historic home, marveling at its intricate woodwork, hand-painted ceilings, and cozy fireplaces—all aglow with candlelight for an enchanting ambiance.
Adding to the festive experience, guests are treated to warm holiday refreshments, including spiced cider and traditional Victorian treats, evoking the flavors of a bygone era. This year’s Christmas by Candlelight has been set for December 16, opening its doors from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. While advance ticket sales are currently closed, visitors still have the opportunity to purchase tickets upon arrival inside Aunt Dealy’s house, with card payments accepted. The experience is accentuated by the chance to enjoy warm festive fare, including hot apple cider and Moravian cookies, offered on the South Porch as a delicious conclusion to the tour. With tickets available for two exclusive evenings, guests are encouraged to partake in this special event that merges Victorian Christmas charm with modern holiday cheer. However, guests should note that due to the limited nature of the event, tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable, ensuring a truly unique and intimate experience for those attending.
